Privacy Policy
UseBoldTools privacy: website tools and the UseBold PDF Android app
Effective date: July 5, 2026
This policy explains what happens when you use UseBoldTools today: the website offers browser-based tools, and the Android app UseBold PDF has its own on-device data flow. The two products share a brand, but they do not handle data the same way.
For rules of use and disclaimers, see the Terms of Service. To browse website tools by category, start at all tools.
Overview
UseBoldTools includes two related products: the website, which is a collection of free, in-browser utilities for text, PDF, images, developers, and more; and UseBold PDF, a native Android app for scanning, importing, merging, compressing, renaming, deleting, and sharing PDFs.
The website favors client-side execution where practical so you get fast results without uploading content to our application servers for that step. The Android app keeps its document work on your device in v1 and uses Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage measurement, as described below.
UseBold PDF (Android app)
UseBold PDF is our native Android app on package com.usebold.pdf. It is a general productivity app for creating and managing PDFs on Android, including camera scan to PDF, PDF import, merge, compress, rename, delete, and share.
1. What the app does
The app helps you capture pages with your camera, import existing PDFs from your device, combine files, reduce file size, rename documents, remove documents from the app, and share PDFs through Android's share sheet.
2. Data stored on your device
In v1, the app stores files in app-private storage on your device. We do not provide UseBold cloud sync for the Android app. If you delete a file from the app, it is removed from the app's local storage. If you uninstall the app, Android removes the app's private storage as part of the uninstall process.
Your own device and Android settings control any additional copies you may have made elsewhere, such as files saved by other apps, cloud backup tools, or files shared to another location.
3. What we do not collect from documents
We do not upload your PDFs, scan images, photos, filenames, passwords, document contents, or document metadata to UseBold servers as part of v1 app processing. The document work happens locally on your device.
4. Camera and file access
The app asks for camera permission only when you choose to scan pages. File and photo access happens through the Android system picker when you choose to import a PDF or image from your device.
You can revoke permissions later in Android settings. If you disable camera or picker access, the related features will stop working until you grant access again.
5. Analytics (Firebase)
The app uses Firebase Analytics to measure anonymous feature usage and app stability. Typical events may include app_open, scan_started, scan_page_added, first_scan_completed, pdf_exported, pdf_shared, pdf_opened, tool_used, drawer_opened, drawer_item_tapped, onboarding_completed, onboarding_skipped, and promo_external_link_tapped.
We do not send filenames, paths, URIs, document content, passwords, emails, or image/PDF bytes in these events. Some events may include a page count number or a tool value such as merge or compress.
Firebase and Google SDKs may process installation or device identifiers and related technical data. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy and the Firebase privacy and security documentation.
6. Sharing
When you tap share, the app sends the PDF through Android's share sheet to the app you choose. We do not receive the file back from the receiving app as part of that user-initiated share.
7. Children
UseBold PDF is a general productivity app and is not designed specifically for children. We target the Google Play age-rating flow for users 13 and older.
8. No ads or account in v1
The current Android app version has no advertisements and does not require an account or login.
9. Future changes
If we later add cloud sync, server-side document processing, advertising, or other features that change what data is collected or where it goes, we will update this policy and the in-app disclosures before or when those changes launch.

Website text, files, and tool data
Across the current website tool set, conversion and transformation logic runs in your browser with JavaScript (and relevant open-source libraries where used). For typical tools, your input is used in memory on your device to produce an output you can copy or download.
- No dedicated tool API for your website content: the Angular app is served as static and server-rendered pages; there is no separate UseBoldTools endpoint you must call to upload a file so the site can clean or convert it on our servers as part of normal tool use.
- Session-like behavior: processed data persists only in your browser tab/session until you refresh or navigate away, unless your browser or extensions store it separately (for example local storage or clipboard history) - that is outside our control.
- Clipboard: copy buttons use the browser clipboard API when permitted; we do not receive the copied value on our servers.
Honest limitation: we cannot guarantee every future website feature will remain purely client-side forever. If server-side components are introduced later, this policy and any in-product messaging should be updated to match.
Analytics for the website and app
The website loads Google Analytics using the global site tag (gtag) when the measurement ID is configured in the deployed site. The Android app uses Firebase Analytics. These are separate data flows with different implementations.
Depending on your browser, consent settings, and Google's configuration, website analytics may process information such as page paths, page titles, general usage events, and technical metadata. Website analytics does not include the full text of everything you paste into a tool unless a future, separately documented integration were added.
On localhost during development, website analytics calls are suppressed in code so local testing does not pollute production reports. The Android app analytics are limited to anonymous feature events described above.
Information we may receive
Beyond analytics, we may receive limited technical data from ordinary hosting and CDN logs for the website, such as IP addresses, user agents, and request metadata, as part of operating any public website.
If you contact us by email, we receive whatever you include in that message and use it to respond. Website support: useboldtools@gmail.com.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies and similar storage may be used for site functionality, measurement, and (if enabled) advertising. Third-party scripts loaded by analytics or ads may set their own cookies subject to their policies and your browser controls.
You can adjust cookie settings in your browser; blocking some categories may affect measurement or certain features.
Advertising
The website may display advertising now or in the future, including through third-party partners. Ad delivery systems may use cookies or related identifiers. If ads are shown, they are subject to applicable platform policies and regional requirements. The current UseBold PDF Android app version has no ads.
Ad tech operates largely outside our direct control; review partner notices where they appear.
Third-party services
We rely on third parties for hosting, DNS, measurement (such as Google Analytics for the website and Firebase Analytics for the Android app), and potentially ads or embedded content. Each provider handles data under its own terms.
External links (for example from tool help sections or the About page) are not controlled by UseBoldTools; review those sites' policies before sharing information there.
Security
We aim to follow reasonable practices for a static/SSR web app and a local-first Android app, but no online service or mobile software can be perfectly secure in every scenario.
Do not submit highly sensitive personal data, secrets, or regulated content through tools or email unless you accept the residual risk of working in a browser, on a device, and over the public internet.
Children's privacy
UseBoldTools is a general audience website and app and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact useboldtools@gmail.com.
Updates to this policy
We may update this page when tools, analytics, app features, or legal expectations change. The effective date above reflects the latest published version.
